Exfoliate + Moisturize = WinterTimeBikeRiding
I felt my face getting more and more chapped with every revolution of the wheels today. When I brought my bike back in from riding around my neighbor asked if it was worth it biking in the freezing cold and windy weather. My reply: Always, its always worth it! But now I need to exfoliate the dead skin off my face and lay the moisturizer on thick. Goodnight!
r-a-q-u-e-l asked: i may have already said this but thanks for following :D i used to ride my bike to school everyday till i started college :( thanks again <3 xox
Days of Summer Feel Long Gone
I can hardly feel my fingers when I walk outside. The world is dark after 5pm (aside from light pollution). Insert lots more cold and dark imagery here that will make you wish winter away. But now is actually the time to be really, really imaginative and pretend you are sweaty, want to eat an ice pop, and feel like going for a bike ride. What? No bike? Buy one now, because life hacker says that...

Oh heyyy there
Funny running into you here, wow, umm, what are you doing here? I’ll try and pretend I’m not supremely awkward by making small talk, smiling, and giggling at your witty references to pop-culture icons of 2010 while we catch up on the last year. Yeh, so I quit my fashion job one year ago and went back to school for nutrition, a stepping stone to med school. Weird right?! Haha, yeh I...

Where art thou, where art thou,
my fair CNN time and temperature? You have been out for several days now and I really miss calculating how many minutes I will be late for work as I ride through the park.
Sub Zero Flip Off
Today, a cyclist went around me on my way to work, and instead of passing on the left, he passed on the right. So, this caused him to venture into the vehicular lane. A gypsy cab beeped him and the cyclist responded with a middle finger raised high and proud in the cabs direction. But, this cyclist flipped off the driver while wearing ski gloves. For some reason, I thought this was incredibly...

Phew
Today was a better day than I had originally planned for (phew), and I am thankful for that! Things people shouted at me today included:
1.) that whistle
2.) you are so chic!
3.) aren’t you cold?
Consider the Sneeze
While bike riding home this evening, I had a few different physical feelings.
One feeling was stomach pain, because I had eaten some amazing ropa vieja from Sophie’s and then 1.5 cupcakes from Butter Lane and was bike riding too fast too soon after ingesting too much deliciousness. There was really nothing I could do about this feeling, and I knew it would soon pass.
Another feeling was...
It Finally Happened
I saw some one I know while biking to work. It was kind of a funny moment because I think I had the expression of “ugh this taxi needs to get out of my way” and I think I caught him with the expression of “what is this crazy person doing?” and then later on gchat he confirmed he was thinking: “how crazy does someone have to be to bike down 5th avenue? Oh, ok…...
Hang Over Scaffolding
The tree in Rockefeller Center is up! And there is scaffolding all around it to decorate it. I wonder how long it takes to decorate. I remember reading somewhere that bamboo scaffolding is actually safer, stronger, and cheaper than the metal scaffolding we use here. I guess there isn’t that much bamboo grown in the US, though, so maybe it is cheaper to use metal scaffolding. Hmm. Anyway,...
No Biking Today
I am sick. Emergen-C and throat drops are the only things I will consume today. oh, and tea. with honey.
Cloudy Vision
Last night I was studying and I learned that galactosemia can cause cataracts. I also watched this movie in which a painter starts losing his sight. Then this morning, when I went outside and starting biking to work, I thought I had developed cataracts overnight and that I was going blind! Yes, I know this is not possible but I really thought there was no other explanation for my cloudy vision....
Central Park is Almost Back to Normal
The ING sponsored, bright orange plastic covered bleachers are almost all torn down, the runners have stopped running against the flow of traffic, and no one has been spotted sporting their participatory medals today. Phew. I love and respect marathon runners, but the mania on central park south was really getting to me. I just wanted to think pretty thoughts and admire the fall foliage on my way...

I missed you bike blog!
I am so sorry i haven’t updated you in a while! anyway, nothing too exciting happened last week, except for Tuesday night when i was drunkenly riding home and accidentally lost my shoe and a fellow cyclist riding behind me picked it up for me and said “here you are, Cinderella,” that was kind of adorable and really nice. I am not sure i would touch a stranger’s shoe, even...

Outdone by a ROLLER BLADER
Today, on my commute home from work, a roller blader totally out did me, and no, not just on the down hills. This guy was probably in his mid-50s, wearing a helmet, hands held behind is back in a relaxed position, and making me cry. I need to get some roller blades and try to go faster than a cyclist in order to gain back my self respect.
Awesome
I almost always wear a skirt or a dress. I don’t like wearing jeans because they just don’t look right on me. I’ve got kind of a big tush, and finding jeans that fit properly can be tough. And today, like most days, I wore a skirt to work.
While I was riding to work, another cyclist rode up to me and told me that I am awesome because I ride my bike even when I am all dressed up....
